What did we do to get so lucky? When Kevin reached out to us about planning this surprise engagement session for his soon to be fiance we knew he was a catch. Once Gia got on board it was a match made in heaven! They rented this brilliantly decorated air bnb for the first half of our shoot and then we drove down the road to catch the sunset amongst the famous joshua trees. These two have so much style and such a strong love for each other and it was a complete joy to capture their relationship. Please enjoy some of our favorites from this beautiful couples engagement session.
Cassie and Michael wanted to have a snapshot of what their lives look like right now before they move into the next chapter of their lives together. We of course were on board with that! We walked into their home to the sound of a record playing and the cutest welcome bark from their rescue pup, Jack. We were instantly in love with their home. It was filled with vintage treasures, lush plants and one of a kind art (including Cassie’s dope drawings). We got to spend some time together capturing their everyday activities in their space and getting inspired by not only the awesome light in their home but by the unique connection and love these two have for each other.
Walking around their neighborhood was so fun! We stopped by their favorite restaurant, walked down their favorite streets and sat on the exact bench that they sat on when they made the decision to move to this neighborhood they love so much. These two have such a unique and beautiful love for each other and we can’t wait to capture their wedding day later this year. Please enjoy some of our favorites from our time with these two! <3
The theme of this session is definitely love & light. We started off 2019 with Megan & Derris and we are just overwhelmed by the amount of love we have for these two. They asked if we could shoot on the beach in Laguna since it’s where they got engaged (adorable!) and we are so glad we could make that happen. It’s so important to us that the locations we choose to shoot at have sentimental value and represent the lives of the people we are shooting.
We literally can NOT wait for their wedding later this year! You don’t wanna miss these two lovebirds. Check out some of our favorites below!
Are you ready for the most adorable and effortlessly cool engagement session?
When choosing an engagement session location and vibe we always want the photos to portray our couples in an honest light. We think of it as a chance to take a snap shot into their lives at this moment before they start their lives together. For Erin & C-Wray it was an easy choice. We knew we needed to include their dope vintage jeep and OF COURSE Jack (the doggy) needed to be there! We were so glad when they showed up in casual clothes since it's so true to who they are in their everyday life together. We're kinda obsessed with these three and we CANNOT WAIT for their upcoming Jackson Hole WY wedding next month! Check out some of our favorites from their session!
"My body feels bare without your hands on me."
It's no secret that we absolutely adore in home sessions. There is something about being in that intimate space with a couple that just brings that immediate authenticity to the shoot. It was a total bonus that Carle & Kurt's little abode was nothing short of magical. It was filled with vintage treasures and adorable antiques. It fit their vibe perfectly and made our job super easy. We loved getting to hang out with these two and of course their pup, Olive stole the show. We are counting down the days until their wedding later this year in Arrowhead.
Mandy & Costanza wanted to shoot at the Safari Inn as a nod to the classic film True Romance. They are both such unique and imaginative people we knew a non traditional engagement session was the right fit. They wore matching hawaiian outfits (which we think is pretty damn awesome) and Mandy got her amazing nails done in theme! We got a room, got into character, and even took a dip in the pool. We are kinda in love with the end result. Check them out below.
It's a New Year and we have a new blog post for ya! If Cristina and Ryan's epic engagement session is a peek into 2018, then we could not be more excited! These two came to the dessert dressed to the nines and ready for an adventure. Cristina was a rock star and she was not only down for the hike but was passing us by in her HEELS! They told us before we started shooting that they were awkward in front of the camera, which is a normal and common thing for couples to feel. But we quickly realized that they were tricking us because these two were complete super model naturals. We had so much fun with these two and can't wait for their wedding later this year! Enjoy!!
What is your perfect kind of date?
We love encouraging couples to let us capture them doing what they would possibly do together on a perfect weekend date. Natalie & Jared did just that and we loved every second of it! We started the morning off at the famous Swingers Diner in West Hollywood. A diner that Natalie and Jared frequent since they live just down the street. They shared fries, a milkshake and a dance all before 11:00am. We played around with pops of color throughout the neighborhood. They took this adventure to a whole new level when they took us to "The Pink House." It's no secret that Natalie loves bright, colorful and quirky things. One of her favorite stores is The Pygmy Hippo, which is a magical teeny store with a huge heart. Natalie & Jared love to laugh and play together. They are the type of people that truly seek out the happiness and joy in life. Their positive and fun energy is infectious and you just want to be around them all day. It is an understatement to say we are pumped for their wedding this September!
We love when we walk away from an engagement session feeling like we just hung out with a couple of friends. That is exactly how we felt after Brianne and Dennis' shoot. These two live down the street from the colorful and vibrant Venice canals so it only seemed natural to go explore their neighborhood. We walked around the canals and then decided we couldn't pass up going to the beach and getting sand beneath our feet. We didn't know that the sunset would be as stunning as it was. Bonus!! :)
We had so much with Brianne and Dennis and we are counting down the hours until we see them tomorrow for their wedding day!! We can't wait to spend the day laughing and celebrating with them! Enjoy!
