Moody Home Engagement: Carle & Kurt

It's no secret that we absolutely adore in home sessions. There is something about being in that intimate space with a couple that just brings that immediate authenticity to the shoot. It was a total bonus that Carle & Kurt's little abode was nothing short of magical. It was filled with vintage treasures and adorable antiques. It fit their vibe perfectly and made our job super easy. We loved getting to hang out with these two and of course their pup, Olive stole the show. We are counting down the days until their wedding later this year in Arrowhead.

Enjoy!!

Serendipity Garden Wedding: Stephanie & Christian

When there is rain and snow in the forecast for a wedding day, it can sometimes make everyone a little nervous. But Steph and Christian dotted all the I's and crossed all the T's when it came to prepping for the weather and taking care of their guests. From the cute umbrellas at the ceremony, the faux fur wraps for the bridesmaids, the blankets at cocktail hour, to the outrageously gorgeous tent adorned with the beautiful drapery filled with heaters, no detail was looked over. The thought and care that went into every little thing made every guest feel VIP. Even though it was a little chilly the sky was covered with beautiful clouds which added to the romantic and cozy vibe of the whole day. Come rain or come shine, Steph and Christian weren't going to let anything stop them from having the best day filled with love, laughter and silliness. Enjoy these two lovebirds.

White Rock Lake Dallas Family: The Walkers

We took a little Heirlume trip out to Dallas, Texas for a few days filled with family sessions! While we were there we had the pleasure of capturing the Walker Family during sunrise at the gorgeous White Rock Lake. Paige Walker is a fellow photographer and she really made our jobs easy! We cannot get over how adorable everyone's outfits were and how beautiful this family is!  The larger families are always filled with such energy and joy, it really makes the sessions so much fun! Check out some of our favorites below!

Safari Inn Engagement: Mandy & Costanza

Mandy & Costanza wanted to shoot at the Safari Inn as a nod to the classic film True Romance. They are both such unique and imaginative people we knew a non traditional engagement session was the right fit. They wore matching hawaiian outfits (which we think is pretty damn awesome) and Mandy got her amazing nails done in theme! We got a room, got into character, and even took a dip in the pool. We are kinda in love with the end result. Check them out below.

Vasquez Rocks Engagement: Cristina & Ryan

It's a New Year and we have a new blog post for ya! If Cristina and Ryan's epic engagement session is a peek into 2018, then we could not be more excited! These two came to the dessert dressed to the nines and ready for an adventure. Cristina was a rock star and she was not only down for the hike but was passing us by in her HEELS! They told us before we started shooting that they were awkward in front of the camera, which is a normal and common thing for couples to feel. But we quickly realized that they were tricking us because these two were complete super model naturals. We had so much fun with these two and can't wait for their wedding later this year! Enjoy!!

Intimate Santa Barbara Elopement: Ben & Emily

Ben & Emily are two of our closest friends. It was such a privilege to be a part of such an intimate gathering. Ben and Emily wanted the day to feel laid back, fun and classy. They absolutely nailed it! They kept it simple by inviting their closest family and friends to the Santa Barbara Courthouse for a lovely ceremony on the lawn, followed by a candle lit dinner at the Belmond El Encanto. With such a loose timeline we were lucky enough to plan some extra photo time in and shoot at some of the most gorgeous Santa Barbara locations. We made a quick stop at the beach on the way to dinner and just played around. The joy of their love and the happiness of the day is really apparent in their photos. Ben and Emily are two awesome people who are even better together. Take a look at a few highlights of their love. <3

The Kappens

Some of our dearest friends started a family and it made our hearts explode. Peter and Emily are also awesome photographers (see their work here) who actually shot Loretta's wedding! It's always a joy when we get to return the favor and capture such a monumental part of a fellow photographers life.

Emily is a warrior and delivered her baby at home completely naturally. It made perfect sense to capture their new life together in the very spot they brought him into this world. Also, their apartment is pretty awesome so that helps. :)

We welcome Vaughn to this world with happy hearts. He is beyond blessed to have Peter and Emily as parents. We can't wait to see them grow as a family! <3

Venice Canals Engagement : Brianne & Dennis

We love when we walk away from an engagement session feeling like we just hung out with a couple of friends. That is exactly how we felt after Brianne and Dennis' shoot. These two live down the street from the colorful and vibrant Venice canals so it only seemed natural to go explore their neighborhood. We walked around the canals and then decided we couldn't pass up going to the beach and getting sand beneath our feet. We didn't know that the sunset would be as stunning as it was. Bonus!! :)

We had so much with Brianne and Dennis and we are counting down the hours until we see them tomorrow for their wedding day!! We can't wait to spend the day laughing and celebrating with them! Enjoy!

Greenhouse Engagement: Katie & Stuart

When we had our first meeting with Katie and Stuart and they were describing their wedding venue location, we were pretty excited about how it all sounded. When we actually got there to shoot their engagement session, we were jaw dropped and giddy the entire time. There are greenhouses all over and every single one has a different story to tell. The grounds are lush with vibrant colors and the coolest plant life. Don't even get us started on the cliffside and the private beach. Our faces hurt from smiling the whole time. What's even better than all of that though (I know, what could be better?) is Katie and Stuart. They are the sweetest and most down to earth people and were a total blast to hang with. We are so honored to know them and we are literally counting down the days until their wedding!
